Las Vegas-area homes usually have no basement and limited storage. Sort before your survey: it reduces the bill and saves you from renting a storage unit once you arrive.
Master-planned communities
Summerlin, Henderson and many newer Las Vegas neighborhoods run through homeowner associations, and some are gated. Rules often cover truck parking, delivery hours and advance notice for the guard. Get those from your association or agent as soon as you have a date.
High-rise condos near the Strip also typically require an elevator booking and proof of the mover's insurance.
Summer in the Mojave
Las Vegas summers regularly exceed 100 degrees. Trailers get hotter still, so carry heat-sensitive items such as candles, medication, records and data drives with you, and schedule delivery for early morning. Make sure your air conditioning is on before the truck arrives.
The route also crosses the Rockies on I-70 through Colorado or runs I-80 through Wyoming, depending on season and load, and winter storms can slow either one.
Reno and northern Nevada
Reno sits on I-80 and is a different delivery from Las Vegas, at about 1,930 miles. Enter your exact city in the form for a better range.
Nevada has no state income tax. Read moving to Nevada for what else changes, and contact Nevada DMV promptly about your license and registration.
