Delivery west of Denver can cost more, because mountain roads and steep driveways often call for a smaller truck. Give us the exact address and a description of the driveway to keep your estimate accurate.
Front Range or mountains
Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs all sit along I-25, and most of those addresses are easy for a long-distance truck.
Mountain towns are different. Commercial vehicles on I-70 in the high country must follow Colorado's chain law from September through May, and storms can close the road for hours. Build flexible days into any winter delivery above the Front Range.
Altitude and your belongings
Denver sits at about 5,280 feet, and the air is very dry. Some things respond to that:
- Sealed containers can pop or leak from pressure changes, so open or remove them before packing.
- Wood furniture and instruments from a humid Chicago summer can shrink or crack as they dry out. Pianos and guitars often need a tuning and some time to adjust.
- You will notice it too. Drink more water than usual on unloading day.
