Moving out of state from DuPage County
Many DuPage moves leave from a four-bedroom house with a full basement and a garage. That is a heavy shipment, which makes weight the first thing to work on.
Sort before your survey. A garage of tools and a basement of storage bins can add thousands of pounds, and that weight travels every mile at your cost.
Subdivisions and HOA rules
Subdivisions usually offer good access, but they can bring rules. Check with your homeowner association about large trucks, parking times and any notice it wants before moving day. Cul-de-sacs can also be tight for a full-size truck.
We ask about all of this during the survey, so the crew arrives with a plan.
Getting on the road
From most of DuPage, trucks reach long-distance routes on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88), I-355, I-55 or I-294. That puts the Southwest, Texas and Florida corridors close by.
Popular lines include Chicago to Texas, Chicago to Florida, Chicago to Arizona and Chicago to Colorado. Transfers are also common here, so see corporate relocation if your employer is paying.

For a family home, the 4-bedroom row is usually the place to start. A survey replaces this with your actual weight.
